[Baketu Port]
Situated in Tacheng, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, the port is a highway port 17 km away from Tacheng City, neighboring on the East Kazakhstan State, Kazakhstan Republic. With a trading history of over 100 years, the port is a traffic main artery of western China leading to central Asia and Europe. In 1960s the trade and exchange of personnel through the port was broken off, but owing to the needs to develop border trade, the port was opened for temporary passage of goods from September 1991. From November 1992, the port has been opened for the third country. Annually, the port has the capacity to allow 300,000 tons of goods and 100,000 people to pass. The port is 17 km away from Tacheng City, 620 km away from Urumqi City, 60 km away from Makanchi, Kazakhstan and 660 km away from the city of Saimipajinsike, Kazakhstan. ¡¡ |
