           As a highway port, Horguos Port is located in Huocheng County, Ili Kazak Aautonomous Prefecture and neighbours on Almata State, Kazakhstan Republic. Horhuos Port has been an important channel for trade since ancient times and it was through the port that the famous Silk Road led to the territory of former Soviet Union. 90 km northwest of Yining City, Horguos Port is a port under Category A between China and Kazakhstan and is opened to a third country. Since 1851, it has been a trading port. So far, the port has become the largest of its kind in China. With complete facilities, the port boasts a 12-hectare market of border trade.

            From Horguos Port, it is 30 km to Qingshuihe Town, and 98 km to Yining City, capital of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, 670km to Urumqi City, 1.5 km to Horguos Port of Kazakhstan, 35 km to Panfeiluop City, Kazakhstan, and 380 km to Almata City, Kazakhstan.

              Horguos Port is able to allow3 million people and 2 million tons of goods to enter and exit annually. In 2000, 116,000 people, 26800 vehicles and 291,000 tons of goods enter and exit through this port, with the trade volume of 438 million USD.
