Port]
As a highway port, the port is situated in Wuqia County of Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture and neighbors on Nalen State, Kirghizia Republic. Since more than 100 years, it has been the trading port between China and Russia. In 1983, the opening up of the port was resumed. The port can be opened for passage all the year round and for the passage of large transport vehicles. Annually, the port is able to allow the passage of 200,000t¡ª300,000t goods and 100,000 people. In 1999, over 12,000 passengers and 43,000t goods passed through the port. From Turgart Pass, it is 120 km to Tuopa, the seat of the port, 180 km to both Kashgar and Atux, 1630 km to Urumqi; 6 km to Turugart Port of Kirghizia, 190 km to Nalen City, 540 km to Bishkak, capital of Kirghizia Republic, and 1100 km to Tarshgan, capital of Uzbekistan Republic. ¡¡ |
