Project Construction (Production) Scale and Content：
Bohu County, located at the east of Yanqi Basin，is rich in oil and natural gas reserves. "Bendong" has proven oil reserves near 10 million tons. Recently, “Yansen Well No.1” in Yanqi Basin has successfully gained industrial oil and gas flow. Fine methanol project uses accompanying steam of natural gas and oil as raw material with low-pressure synthesis process for production. To construct a set of 50000-ton methanol production device，Bohu County’s rich oil and natural gas resources will serve as reliable raw material source. Gross investment in the project: 250 million yuan. Methanol is an basic organic chemical raw material widely used in fields of fine chemical, plastics, medicine and forest product processing, etc，and can be developed into more than 100 kinds of added value chemical products，especially into a new clean fuel to be mixed with gasoline，showing encouraging development prospects. At present, total output of methanol in China is 1.5 million tons. In 1996, China imported methanol of 410000 tons. Market survey shows that only north China registers shortage over 80000 tons a year. Currently, shortage of methanol in international market reaches 1.4 million tons. In 1997, methanol price in Korea, Japan and Malaysia and Singapore went up. So the product will be much competitive in international market.
